Whether you’re an ultra-accomplished actor or someone finally getting your big break, getting an Oscar nomination is undoubtedly a big deal. After all, it’s the undisputed greatest honor of the movie industry.
And while everyone is always vying for the award, there’s something special about seeing our favorite stars get Oscar nods for the very first time in their careers. And, in this year’s Oscar nominations, which were announced earlier today, there were countless first-time nominees. From Killers of the Flower Moon star Lily Gladstone becoming the first Native American woman to be nominated in the Best Actress category, to Cillian Murphy receiving his first-ever nod in the Best Actor category for Oppenheimer, so many stars can now officially add “Oscar Nominee” to their long list of impressive titles.
