Christie Brinkley marked a milestone birthday on Feb. 2, and she shared the belated 70th celebration by sharing some words of wisdom to her followers about this season of life. The supermodel accompanied the poetic caption with a snapshot that showed her looking strong, fit, and fabulous!
Wearing black leggings that hugged her gorgeous curves along with a white jogging bra, Brinkley flaunted her toned abs and muscular biceps. Her blonde hair flowed down her shoulder in a soft wave and there was a big smile on her face — she looked and felt great. She shared a rhyming poem in honor of her big day with a sprinkle of advice for anyone who has fears about growing older.
“Looking in the mirror on my 70th Birthday and what do I see, I’m finally happy with the person looking back back at me,” she wrote in the caption. “I’m no longer critical and demanding. now I’m grateful and understanding. I’ve put this body thru it. I’ve broken every bone, in tiny miracles I’m all healed, in my heart and soul I’m home. It’s taken 70 years to get here, in tears and joy I’ve found my happy. so now I’m going to end this poem, before I get too sappy! In her 69th year, People spoke to Brinkley about what aging meant to her. “I pretty much feel, as I’m approaching 70, the same way that I felt when I was approaching 30. I feel good. I feel strong,” she said enthusiastically. “I feel like the number doesn’t match my spirit, so I may as well just keep spiriting on.” Her advice to everyone is to honor the privilege of celebrating another year of life and not focusing on the age on your driver’s license.
“I’ve been shocked by not feeling the way I thought I was supposed to be feeling at that age,” she advised. “I don’t believe that focusing on age is going to make you feel any better about it. I think curiosity in the world around you and just wanting to do something with each day, that is what keeps you young and going.” That’s some sound advice from a supermodel who is not slowing down one bit at “sensational” 70!
