Being a nepo baby certainly has its perks — like getting courtside seats to a Lakers game or going on luxury vacations. But there is one even bigger benefit if you are Kate Hudson’s daughter: access to her designer gowns! The Almost Famous star revealed she plans on passing down her archive of red-carpet looks to her 5-year-old daughter Rani, who she shares with fiancé Danny Fujikawa, and we’ve never been more jealous of a kid.
Fashion Archive
“I have a very extensive archive at this point,” Hudson told PEOPLE on Sunday about her exquisite fashion. “Not all of them I’ve gotten to keep over the years, but the ones that I [can], and the ones that are custom and all that, I hold onto them.”
She added that these clothes are “a piece of my personal history.” Hudson continued, “So holding onto them is sort of a retrospective of the art that I’ve created throughout the years, and is really interesting to look back on.”
Hudson always looks gorgeous — we still dream about the backless yellow dress she wore in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days — so there’s no doubt Rani has it made. She’ll never even need a new dress for because she’ll have so many timeless looks from her mom to choose from. It’s just like the late Anna Nicole Smith’s daughter Dannielynn, 17, who also has access to her mom’s stylish closet, which was archived just for her.
Already Stealing Mom’s Clothes
Although Rani probably doesn’t understand the full extent of her future fashion closet, she does already appreciate her mom’s style. “[Rani] is already going through my shoes, and I catch her kind of opening my closet doors and looking in, peering into certain things, and I’m like, ‘Oh, it just already belongs to Rani,'” Hudson told the outlet. “So one day I’m sure I’ll start to see things go missing.”
And if she does, it’s just karma from her own past actions: stealing from her mom Goldie Hawn’s closet. Although, Hudson admitted to PEOPLE that when she was “younger” and “living at home,” she “would dip into my mom’s closet.” It’s a family tradition!
Mom of 3
The Glass Onion star is also mom to sons Ryder, 20, with ex Chris Robinson, and Bingham, 12, with ex Matt Bellamy. She took her two youngest to the Los Angeles Lakers vs. Denver Nuggets in Los Angeles on Saturday. “Took my boots and my babies out to see some history made 💫 #40000,” she wrote on Instagram, sharing pictures of her beautiful over-the-knee boots and selfies with Rani and Bingham.
Her eldest son is currently going to college at New York University and wasn’t at the game with his mom and siblings. The “Talk About Love” singer opened up about missing her firstborn in another interview with PEOPLE. “I wish he lived a little closer,” she said. “But I just love seeing him explore his adulthood. He’s an adult, you know? He’s out in the world and doing his thing. … We’re very close and I’m very proud.”
