This is not a drill, dear muggles! LEGO released a talking sorting hat like the sorting hat from the Harry Potter series today. Did you catch that? This isn’t any ol’ LEGO set. It’s a talking one. Yup! The masterminds at the beloved building block company really outdid themselves with this 561-piece one.
When kids (or, let’s be real, adult fans too) complete their masterpiece, they can tip the top of the iconic sorting hat or place in on their head to activate 1 of more than 30 randamized sounds and find out which house they are placed in. You may be certain you’re a Hufflepuff (guilty!), but what will the hat say?!
LEGO Harry Potter Talking Sorting Hat
The long-awaited and intricately designed hat is finally available on Amazon. It comes with a display stand that includes Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw crests, as well as a figurine of Harry Potter wearing the sorting hat.
Does it get much cooler than that for a Potterhead? We think not!
Intimidated by the number of pieces? Don’t worry. You don’t need any liquid luck. Instead, LEGO launched the LEGO Builder app which features interactive instructions that are zoomable, rotatable, or saveable — so you can pick up right where you left off when you get back from Defense Against the Dark Arts. It can also create different tasks for multiple builders so wizarding families can tackle this epic talking sorting hat together.
And if this new launch has you wanting to build up your LEGO Harry Potter collection, there’s also a buildable Hogwarts castle, Hogwarts Express (currently 20 percent off!), quidditch trunk, Dobby (with a book with a sock inside!), and more.
