I like to think of my kitchen tools as investments, hopefully becoming pieces I will use for a lifetime. But big kitchen investments usually come with a big price tag so hearing that one of my favorite celebrities also loves the product, never hurts. Actress and foodie Jennifer Garner’s seal of approval goes a long way, especially considering one of her best cooking buddies is the culinary queen herself, Ina Garten. So when we heard Garner was dishing out the scoop on her favorite tools, we ran to see what the Pretend Cooking Show host recommends.
In a recent interview with Katie Couric Media, Garner was asked about the kitchen tool she “can’t live without” and we were thrilled to read that her response was none other than the famous Kitchenaid stand mixer. “100 percent it’s a stand mixer,” Garner told Katie Couric Media. Garner continued, “I use it many, many days a week. It is constantly in use at my house. My kids bake with it, I use it if I’m going to make chicken taquitos because it makes shredding chicken so easy. I put the cooked chicken breasts in the mixer with the paddle and go zhuzh, zhuzh, zhuzh, and then it’s perfectly pulled apart and ready to go.”
KitchenAid 5.5 Quart Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer
Ina Garten also uses KitchenAid stand mixers and even recommends them on her Barefoot Contessa website.
Garner didn’t specify exactly which KitchenAid stand mixer model she uses, but we did a little digging and found this one that’s currently marked down by over $100 at Target. Normally coming in at $450, the KitchenAid 5.5 quart lifted bowl is currently discounted by $130, bringing the price down to $320.
I’ve owned a KitchenAid stand mixer for almost ten years now and I can honestly say it works just as well as it did the day I bought it. My model doesn’t include the lifted bowl and I paid more than the current Target sale price so I highly recommend taking advantage of this deal before it’s gone.
